FREE SEWING MACHINE 

TRAINING PROGRAM: 

MAC welfare society, Vijayawada, Krishna District conducted free Sewing machine Training program to 40 slum Dwellers in R. R. Peta area. This program was conducted for a period of three months for the benefit of women residing on slum area for their self employment and livelihood promotion. It was inaugurated on 8^th March 2015 by Smt. Jayalakshmi, Area corporator on the occasion of international women’s day celebrations. It was made known to all the women that tat should become active and effective steps need to be adopted for achieving socio economic empowerment and sustainable development. “It is possible only through professional education as well as skill development” as informed by the organizers. In this connection Smt. Minaakshi, President, MAC welfare society reiterated that women dress such as blouses, Nighties are made by learning sewing machine, readymade shops can be opened to sell the dresses and earn their livelihood. It was informed to them that their NGO would help them in getting orders for this purpose.     

Smt. Jayalakshmi, coporator of the area, While addressing the gathering said that 200 women came forward to extend their free services in sewing training programs for economic development of some women of the area. She felt very happy for organizing this training program for the benefit of slum dwellers. She promised that she would provide necessary help on behalf of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.  She advised the members to learn tailoring and earn their livelihood in order to improve their economic status. All the members were happy to celebrate the women’s day.
